O título do disco fai referencia ao can do batería Todd Trainer, un lebrel italiano (en inglés: Italian Greyhound) chamado Uffizi. O álbum foi gravado no estudio Electrical Audio e masterizado en Abbey Road por Steve Rooke. Os debuxos para Excellent Italian Greyhound foron creados por Jay Ryan, da banda Dianogah.
