Chow Yun-Fat (en chinés tradicional 周潤發 e simplificado 周润发), (en pinyin Zhōu Rùnfā), nado o 18 de maio de 1955 en Hong Kong é un actor de cine e televisión. El é principalmente coñecido en Asia pola súa colaboración co director John Woo en filmes como A Better Tomorrow, The Killer, e Hard Boiled; e en occidente pola súa interpretación de Li Mu-bai en Wò hǔ cáng lóng.
Traxectoria
[editar | editar a fonte]Chow nado en Hong Kong, fillo dunha asistenta de limpeza e granxeira, e dun operario de Shell Oil Company.[1]
Pertence á etnia chinesa Hakka,[2][3] medrou no seo dunha comunidade agrícola da Illa Lamma nun fogar sen electricidade. Ós dezasete anos abandonou a escola para se converter en actor, e inscribiuse nun programa de adestramento de actores dunha produtora de televisión local. Ó rematar, asinou un contrato coa cadea por catorce anos. Fíxose famoso protagonizando as populares series Hotel e The Bund. Despois de conquistar Asia con máis de 68 filmes, Chow dirixiuse a Hollywood en 1996 para o seu primeiro papel en inglés en The Replacement Killers dirixida por Antoine Fuqua.
