Halloween é un filme estadounidense de 1978 dirixido por John Carpenter, coescrito coa produtora Debra Hill, e protagonizado por Donald Pleasence e Jamie Lee Curtis, no seu debut no cinema. O argumento céntrase na historia do paciente dun psiquiátrico, Michael Myers, quen foi encerrado logo de asasinar á súa irmá adolescente na noite de Halloween cando só tiña seis anos. Quince anos despois, escapa e regresa á súa vila, onde persegue a unha neneira e os seus amigos ao tempo que é perseguido polo seu psiquiatra.
