Edmond O'Brien
Edmond O'Brien, nado en Nova York o 10 de setembro de 1915 e finado en Inglewood (California) o 9 de maio de 1985, foi un actor estadounidense.
Traxectoria[editar | editar a fonte]
O'Brien graduouse en arte dramática na Universidade de Columbia e debutou en Broadway aos 21 anos en Daughters of Atreus.[1] O seu primeiro papel no cinema foi en 1938 e gradualmente construíu a súa carreira como un respectado actor secundario. Durante a segunda guerra mundial serviu nas Forzas Aéreas.
En 1954 gañou o Oscar ao mellor actor secundario polo seu papel de axente de publicidade en A condesa descalza e tamén foi candidato ao premio por interpretar un senador alcohólico en Seven Days in May (1964). Anteriormente tivera un papel protagonista moi celebrado no drama de cinema negro D.O.A. como un home que quere descubrir quen o envelenou antes de morrer.
Entre 1950 e 1952 protagonizou o drama radiofónico Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar e participou moi activamente na televisión, como en The Comedian, drama dirixido por John Frankenheimer e protagonizado por Mickey Rooney.
O'Brien faleceu vítima do alzhéimer.[2]
