Octavia Lenora Spencer,[1] nada en Montgomery (Alabama) o 25 de maio de 1970[2] é unha actriz estadounidense.
Como escritora creou a personaxe de Randi Rhodes, Ninja Detective, para unha serie de libros infantís en 2013.[3]
Traxectoria
[editar | editar a fonte]Comezou no cinema aos dezanove anos traballando de bolseira no plató de The Long Walk Home, filme protagonizado por Whoopi Goldberg.[4] Como actriz debutou interpretando unha enfermeira no filme A Time to Kill. No 2003 debutou no teatro nos Ánxeles, na obra de Del Shore The Trials and Tribulations of a Trailer Trash Housewife. Foi a súa primeira e única obra, pois dixo a Back Stage Magazine que sofre "medo escénico".[5]
En agosto de 2010 Spences uniuse a Viola Davis, Emma Stone e Bryce Dallas Howard na produción The Help, filme polo que gañou o Oscar á mellor actriz secundaria. Tras este éxito participou en filmes coma Fruitvale Station e The Divergent Series: Insurgent, da serie Divergent.[6]
