O seu sinxelo de 1982 "Forget Me Nots" recibiu un nomeamento ós Grammy na categoría "Mellor interpretación feminina de R&B. Rushen tivo grandes éxitos nas listas musicais de R&B e dance, pero "Forget Me Nots" foi a súa única en irromper nunha lista Top 40.
