Wouter "Wally" De Backer, nado o 21 de maio de 1980, máis coñecido profesionalmente polo seu nome artístico Gotye é un artista belga-australiano[1]. O nome "Gotye" é un derivado de "Gauthier", o equivalente en francés a "Walter" ou "Wouter". A súa voz ten sido comparada coa de Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins e Sting.[2][3][4]
