No libro, Argov define unha "bitch" como "unha muller apoderada que obtén unha forza tremenda da capacidade de ser unha pensadora independente, particularmente nun mundo que aínda ensina ás mulleres a abnegarse. Esta muller non vive segundo os estándares da outra persoa, só os seus".
Why Men Love Bitches foi traducido a tinta linguas. A súa continuación é o libro de 2006 Why Men Marry Bitches. Ámbolos dous libros foron parte da lista de "bestsellers" de New York Times.[1] Why Men Love Bitches estivo na lista de mellor vendidos de Los Angeles Times logo da súa publicación inicial en 2006,[2] así como na lista de Globe and Mail no Canadá en 2009 e 2010,[3] e de The New York Times en 2014 e 2015.[4] En 2021, estivo no top 5 de The Sunday Times no Reino Unido.[5]
