Sartego de St Andrews
O sartego de St Andrews é un monumento picto que data da segunda metade do século VIII. Este sartego foi descuberto a comezos de 1833 durante as escavacións da catedral de St Andrews, pero non foi até 1922 que os compoñentes superviventes foron reunidos. O sartego atópase exposto no museo da Catedral, en St Andrews, Escocia, preto do lugar da descuberta.
Opinión histórica[editar | editar a fonte]
Os historiadores difiren sobre quen podería estar enterrado no sartego. Malia que se cre foi encargado polo rei picto Óengus I, un cristián que morreu en 761, non está claro se realmente contiña o seu corpo,[1] polo seu predecesor, Nechtan mac Der-Ilei,[2] ou por outra figura posteror.[3]
