Charles Dixon, nado en 1858 en Londres e morto en 1926, foi un ornitólogo británico.
Traxectoria[editar | editar a fonte]
Colaborou con Henry Seebohm (1832-1895) na súa grande obra British Birds, no seu segundo volume, onde presentou e modificou a teoría de Alfred Russel Wallace (1823-1913) sobre a cor dos paxaros e dos niños. Dixon estudou especialmente a migracións das aves, das cales tratou na súa obra The Migration of Birds (nova edición, 1897), obra máis enxeñosa que teórica. Tamén se interesou pola distribución xeográfica das aves.
H. Seebohm deulle o nome na súa honra á Zoothera dixoni en 1881.
