Toots and the Maytals é unha banda xamaicana clave no panorama do ska e do reggae. É unha mestura de diferentes estilos á parte dos dito ska e reggae, do soul e do rock. Foron dos primeiros en utilizar a verba "reggae", que se converteu na definición dun estilo, no seu single Do the reggay (1968). Os seus dous últimos traballos, True Love (2004) e Light your Light (2007), obtiveron o Grammy ao mellor álbum reggae.
