Loretta Lynn, nada como Loretta Webb en Butcher Hollow (Kentucky) o 14 de abril de 1932 e finada en Hurricane Mills (Tennessee) o 4 de outubro de 2022,^[1]^[2] foi unha cantante e compositora de música country e filántropa estadounidense.

Filla dun mineiro de mina de carbón, Lynn casou aos 15 anos, foi nai e pouco despois mudouse ao estado de Washington co seu marido, Oliver Lynn. O seu matrimonio foi tumultuoso, el tivo amantes e ela era moi impetuosa; todas estas experiencias xuntas foron a súa inspiración para a música.

Cando tiña 21 anos, o seu marido regaloulle unha guitarra. Ela aprendeu a tocar e gravou ao ano seguinte. Comezou a ser parte da escena country de Nashville (Tennessee) na década de 1960, e en 1967 conseguiu o primeiro de 16 nº 1 (de entre as 70 cancións en lista como artista en solitario e dueto), entre as que destacan "Don't Come Home A' Drinkin' (With Lovin' on Your Mind)", "You Ain't Woman Enough", "Fist City" e "Coal Miner's Daughter".^[3]

En 1980 rodouse o filme Coal Miner's Daughter, que relata a vida adolescente e os seus inicios na música. Loretta Lynn foi interpretada pola actriz Sissy Spacek quen gañou o Oscar á mellor actriz pola súa interpretación.
