Alan Ladd

Modelo:Actor Alan Walbridge Ladd, nado o 3 de setembro de 1913, finado o 29 de xaneiro de 1964, foi un actor estadounidense de cine negro, cine bélico e western. Fíxose célebre polo seu talante pouco expresivo en escena e por ser máis ben de pouca estatura (arredor de 1,65 m). Na maioría das películas que protagonizou representou ou ben o típico heroe americano ou algún malvado non exento de principios. Ás veces aparecía como "Allan Ladd" nos créditos.

Traxectoria

Ladd naceu en Hot Springs, Arcansas, fillo de inmigrantes ingleses. Nos inicios da súa carreira facía pequenos papeis no cine, como o de periodista en Cidadán Kane, de Orson Welles (1941). No ano seguinte adquiriu grande notoriedade polo seu personaxe de asasino sensible en This gun for hire, xunto a Veronica Lake. Ao ser dita actriz tamén miúda, os estudos reuniron á parella noutras producións populares, como The Glass Key, The Blue Dahlia e Saigon.

A Ladd chegoulle o estrelato polo seu papel de pistoleiro entrañable no western clásico Raíces profundas (1953), con Jean Arthur e Van Heflin. Ladd foi escolleito 3 veces na lista Quigley 10 de estrelas do ano (anos 1947, 1953 e 1954). En 1954 protagonizou canda Peter Cushing, Patrick Troughton e outros veteranos actores británicos, a película de dita nacionalidade O cabaleiro negro, facendo, cousa rara nel, de cabaleiro medieval farfallán.

Ladd traballou tamén na radio, ma serie Box 13. Esta serie funcionou de 1948 a 1949 e foi producida pola propia compañía do actor, Mayfair Productions.

Alan Ladd estivo casado coa ex actriz de cine mudo Sue Carol, que era tamén a súa representante. A actriz Jordania Ladd é neta súa. Ladd tivera un fillo, Alan Ladd, Jr., coa súa primeira esposa, Midge Harrold; Alan Ladd Jr. fíxose executivo e produtor cinematográfico, fundando a Ladd Company. Outro fillo do actor, David Ladd, casou coa actriz protagonista da serie Charlie's Angels, Cheryl Ladd.

Alan Ladd morreu en Palm Springs (California), dunha sobredose de alcol e barbitúricos, en 1964, no que se considerou un probable suicidio. Foi inhumado no Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, de Glendale, no condado dos Ánxeles.
