Raja brachyura é unha especie de peixe da familia dos Rajidae na orde dos Rajiformes.

Morfoloxía[editar | editar a fonte]

Os machos poden chegar a alcanzar os 120 cm de lonxitude total e as femias 125.

Reprodución[editar | editar a fonte]

É ovíparo e as femias poñen ovos envoltos nunha cápsula córnea.[1][2]

Alimentación[editar | editar a fonte]

Come animais bentónicos.

Hábitat[editar | editar a fonte]

É un peixe de mar e de Clima temperado (60 ° N-21 º N, 18 ° W-24 ° E) e demersal que vive entre 10–380 m de profundidade.

Distribución xeográfica[editar | editar a fonte]

Atópase no océano Atlántico oriental: desde as Illas Shetland até Marrocos, Sáhara Occidental e arquipélago de Madeira.

É inofensivo para os humanos.
