O péptido intermedio similar á corticotropina (CLIP) ou péptido do lóbulo intermedio similar á corticotropina [1], tamén chamado fragmento 18-39 da hormona adrenocorticotropa (ou ACTH(18-39)), é un neuropéptido natural endóxeno orixinado no metabolismo da hormona adrenocorticotropa. Encóntrase principalmente no lóbulo intermedio da hipófise e no núcleo arqueado do hipotálamo basal.

Consta de 22 aminoácidos (coincidentes co fragmento N-terminal da ACTH) e a súa secuencia é:

Arg-Pro-Val-Lys-Val-Tyr-Pro-Asn-Gly-Ala-Glu-Asp-Glu-Ser-Ala-Glu-Ala-Phe-Pro-Leu-Glu-Phe [2].

O CLIP xérase como un produto resultante da rotura proteolítica da hormona adrenocorticotropa (ACTH),[3][4] a cal, á súa vez, é o produto da rotura da proopiomelanocortina (POMC).[5] Aínda que o CLIP non parece exercer ningunha función importante no corpo,[6] presenta algunhas actividades biolóxicas, [7][8] especialmente de tipo neurolóxico.
