Michael Kirk Douglas, nado o 25 de setembro de 1944 en New Brunswick, Nova Jersey, é un actor e produtor estadounidense de cinema e televisión. É gañador de dous Premios Óscar e tres Globos de Ouro. É o fillo do tamén famoso actor Kirk Douglas e está casado coa actriz Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Biografía

Douglas naceu en New Brunswick, Nova Jersey, como o primeiro fillo do actor Kirk Douglas e actriz Diana Dill do arquipélago de Bermuda. Os seus avós paternos, Harry Demsky (nado Herschel Danielovitch) e Bryna Demsky (nada Sanglel), eran inmigrantes xudeus de Gomel en Bielorrusia (na época parte do Imperio Ruso). A súa nai e avós maternos, o tenente coronel Thomas Melville Dill e Ruth Rapalje Neilson, eran nativos de Devonshire Parish, Bermuda. Thomas Dill serviu como fiscal xeral de Bermuda e foi comandante da Artillería Milicia Bermuda. Douglas ten un irmán máis novo, Joel Douglas (nado en 1947), e dous medio-irmáns paternos, Peter Douglas (nado en 1955) e Eric Douglas (1958-2004). Asistiu a Escola Allen-Stevenson, da Escola Internacional de Xenebra, e graduouse na Eaglebrook School, en Deerfield, Massachusetts no ano 1960 e A Escola Choate (agora Choate Rosemary Hall) en Wallingford, Connecticut, en 1962. Recibiu o seu B.A. da Universidade de California, Santa Barbara, en 1966, onde é tamén o presidente honorario da Asociación Alumni UCSB.
